Explore the islands and inlets this summer in this classically styled motor launch. The Handy Billy 21 was designed by Harry Bryan using the lines from popular designs of William Hand from the early 1900s. This particular boat was completed in August 2006. Since then it has been lightly used as the shop's "show case boat", and therefore has been continually maintained to the highest standards and always stored indoors during the winter. In both 2008 and 2006 it was awarded "Best Runabout" at the Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival and in 2007 it was featured in Classic Yacht's e-magazine. |

Our Handy Billy was built to traditional yacht quality standards using angelique for the hull frames, keel, stern, stringers, motor hatch and trim. The hull is double planked BS 1088 high grade marine plywood that has been bonded using West System epoxy resin and silicon bronze fasteners. The interior components (seats, floor boards, etc.) are of white pine, spruce, oak and angelique. |

The boat just received its spring maintenance which included 4 coats of Epifanes varnish (sanding in between) to add to the existing multiple layersof varnish. It also was given a fresh coat of bottom paint and is ready to beput in the water for the season. The hull is very solid and provides a smooth, dry, stable ride. The boat is equiped with a very quiet and extremely efficient 2006 Nissan 30hp 4-stroke outboard. The motor works flawlessly and was fully serviced in the fall (including synthetic engine oil). It pushes the boat to a comfortable cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 20+ knots. |

When not on the water, the Handy Billy sits on a 2006 Karavan single axle, bunk -style trailer that is in perfect condition and fully registered and inspected. With the boat weighing a trim 1100 pounds, it tows and launches easily behind cars and trucks alike. The trailer is equiped with a swing away tongue that helps in storage areas with limited space. The boat is also equiped with an easy-to-read flush mount compass and a Raymarine ST 40 depth/speed/log unit with a large digital display and dual thru hull transducers. |
