During the 2008 Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival in Nova Scotia, Transom Boat Works was recognized for its achievements in the boat building industry.  Once again, it was awarded "Best Runabout" for the 21' Handy Billy Motor Launch built in 2006.  Transom has received this award for the past 2 out of 3 years.

During the Annual General Meeting of the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association, held in July 2008, Transom Boat Works received an award for Company Development & Growth for significant investment in training, quality systems and facilities.

Transom Boat Works was highlighted in an article entitled A Racing Heritage in Sailing Magazine's March 2008 issue for its restoration of  a Bluenose Sloop.  The restoration project will be complete, and the sloop will be on display at the Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival this year.  In the meantime,

of the schooner Bluenose. 

Transom Boat Works was featured in the July/August 2007 issue

of Classic Yacht Magazine.  The article The Joy of Small Boats highlights the shop's Handy Billy, designed by Harry Bryan using lines from the popular designs of William Hand in the early 1900s.  This is an example that a classic yacht does not have to be huge in order to porvide the highest "fun per pound" available on the water.  Click on the Classic Yacht cover to read about our Handy Billy.
