Rebuilds and restorations are specialties of Transom Boat Works — returning existing boats to "as new" or better condition, with particular emphasis on the preservation of original materials and character and attention to historical detail. |
Bluenose Sloop Restoration The restoration of a Bluenose Sloop was completed in August 2008. This included new bilge stringers. cockpit sole and seating, deck, boom, mast step, rudder, coamings, rail and trim pieces, along with the repair of existing mast and transom. |

Roué 20 Restoration Currently underway in our shop is the complete restoration of a Roué 20, hull #12, built in 1956 by Smith & Rhuland in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This is expected to be completed in spring 2009. Watch our website for updates on the progress. |

Unfortunately, as we got further and further into the boat, we discovered that the boat was filled with rot. As we removed the all rotted wood, it slowly become apparent that all that would remain of the original boat would be the deadwood and the keel. The owner decided not to go forward with the project. |
